I’ve spent eight years working in a variety of in-house and agency internal communication roles before setting up Helen Deverell Communications in 2016. Most recently working in-house at Grant Thornton, I’ve also delivered projects for Royal Mail Group, 3i, Tesco, ScottishPower, Barclays, Oxford University Press, and The World Gold Council.
My current clients include Skills for Health, Marshall Aerospace, SR Technics, Sainsbury’s, Alive with ideas and All Things IC.
In 2012 I was listed as one of the IoIC’s top 30 under 30 communicators and have also received The Kathie Jones Rising Star Award of Excellence.
I share my insights on internal communications in my blog justthewayicit.com and on Twitter at @helendeverell. My work has been featured in publications and websites including allthingsic.com, CIPR Inside, Creativity in internal communications report, alivewithideas.com, From cascade to conversation by Katie Macaulay and Ragan.com. I am also a member of the CIPR Inside committee and help to organise the annual IoIC conference.
I’ve also spoken at various events including:
- the IoIC annual conference 2014, where I took part in a panel discussion about introverts and extroverts in internal communication
- an Ask the guru event run by CIPR inside, where I spoke about effective application and use of enterprise social networks.
